Q re Photobucket

lkeigwinlkeigwin Posts: 16,893 ✭✭✭✭✭
I am thinking about organizing the hundreds of images I have on Photobucket into folders. Yes, I should have thought of this long ago.

Will moving photos into newly created folders change image file names such that it will break images in earlier forum posts?? Or does the filename remain the same? Anyone know?
Lance.

I believe it changes the image address.

Yeah it does, and that's why my Photobucket
account is still in a mess.

I am finding the spam on there too much to put up with especially when it keeps taking over the pages. Or telling me that I have viruses and the only place that happens is when I am on Phptobucket.

One solution is to start a new account. You can always get a new google or yahoo free email address and sign up with that on photobucket or whatever photohosting site you want to use.

Then just copy and organize your pictures in the new account and leave the old ones so you don't break the links.

This is very true. Except I paid for the pro version and want to take advantage (I dislike all the ads on the free one).

I suppose I'll begin using folders and over time the problem will fade away.

Yes it will break those links, but after a while you have to create folders because it becomes impossible to find the pictures. I did it months ago. I divide up cois by denomination and tokens and medals in some broad categories.

Don't worry about it unless you have eBay auctions pointing to certain photo's.

Just map out your folders, make note of the items that need updating, and make your move.

There are PLENTY of DEAD photobucket links on forums throughout the world! Some of them are mine after reorganizing.

BTW, for the minimum amount that Photobucket Pro cost me, it was well worth the additional expense just to get rid of those annoying Pop Up Ads! Those were about to drive me NUTS!

wait..........................maybe they did which was why............

    Oh whatever.
