Those are some amazing images with high resolution, but first instinct gut reaction is no. Never rule out the possibility of a discovery piece though, happens all the time.
Very astute WoodenJefferson....As I could not find any 1959-D DDO's of any type listed. The inside of the first 9 looks like doubling too but it's dark in there...I can see it with a loupe.
I can't tell from the images whether it is or not but I'm leaning towards not a DDO. If you think it may be one I recommend sending it to CONECA or Wexler for attribution. I don't know of any listed for this date yet.

If it is a hit,it's perfectly placed.
The lower tip of the 5 that looks like a split serif is very rounded...i would think a hit would be blunt.
