1999 FB Roosies

I was looking at the PCGS Price Guide for 1999/2000 dimes. In the Registry, a 1999-P MS68FB gives you the exact same points as a 1999-P MS69. In the price guide, the 1999-P MS68FB lists for $55 while the 1999-P MS69 lists for $750. What would motivate me to pay $695 more for a coin that PCGS ranks the same as the lower priced coin? Is the weighting in the case appropriate?

Registry weights and prices dont seem to go hand in hand.

Interesting. I would have thought a MS69 coin would naturally have to have FB in order to rate so high. After all that's considered near perfect.

As I understand it, and please someone correct me if I'm wrong, you could have a MS70 dime and still not be FB. The dime could be perfect as far as defects go but it just wasn't pressed hard enough to get the FB designation.

    I think the 68FB is $65.00 not $55.00.

And in many cases it is how many are avaible of a TOP POP coins that influences the price spread.
If there are not enouph of them for the top five sets bidding wars can drive prices to moon money.

So when you check the population report and find that there are only "one" of them graded you get an idea of why it is priced as it is.

<< <i>Some people collect coins and not registry points. You should be able to pick up a 99-p 68fb for like $20. >>

    Not mine you won't.
