Just so-so to me. Certainly not enough "oomph" for the star though.

i guess you have to see it in hand. It has the luster of an 81-S certainly uncommon on 87-Ps.

Not enough for a star...should have several colors for a star IMHO

The toning does not impress me, so no star from NGC.
I collect Capped Bust series by variety in PCGS AU/MS grades.

Seems like Ms. Morgan was looking at a Gold Dollar and said "Gee, I wish I was one of those, a nice sweet size 2 blonde, instead of a 350 pound bus driver"
hey, all kidding aside, if YOU like it, thats all that counts. really!

But I have an 1880 S in MS65 that is white that has the star. I've always assumed it indicated high quality for the grade? Am I incorrect?

I bought a number of 100% obverse gold-toned Morgans through the years. Add good luster and they are very attractive.
