Poll: Should a + graded coin get more points in the set registry???

OK, if "The Big One" is indeed a + sign for the grade will the + sign get more points in the set registry?
If the + sign is added I think it should.

So far I find these poll results very surprising
The "BIG" Set Registry players must still be at work
I bet the results turn around this evening.

As part of the new PCGS Secure Plus service PCGS is now designated plus grades for coins that are in the high end of their grade. Plus grades will be designated for grades EF45 thru MS/PR68, with the exception of MS/PR60 and 61. We estimate that about 15 to 20% of the coins in a particular grade will be plus grade coins.
The new PCGS Secure Plus service also features laser coin identification. Complete details of the PCGS Secure Plus service are now posted on the PCGS home page www.pcgs.com.
The additional plus grade designation will change a lot of things. The PCGS Price Guide is now listing prices for the plus grade coins. The PCGS Population report will report Plus grade populations. As for the PCGS Set Registry, plus grades will now be accepted and recognized as “in-between” grades in terms of weighting. Coins receiving a plus grade will be calculated .5 points higher. In other words, if your coin grades 65+, it will calculate as 65.5 in the Registry.
In the words of PCGS founder David Hall, “It’s a marketplace reality that there are high end examples of various grades. Sophisticated collectors and dealers have recognized this for decades and high end coins have almost always traded at premium prices. Plus grading of high end coins mere formalizes this marketplace reality. For the Set Registry plus grading recognizes and rewards the nicest coins.”

<< <i>There are already too many grades, we don't need more with these pluses. >>
I second that!
Buying top quality Seated Dimes in Gem BU and Proof.
Buying great coins - monster eye appeal only.
Personally, I've about had it with the Registry thing. In the beginning it was enjoyable to put my coins up and watch my sets mature. Now it seems it's all about the Star, +, CAC, etc. I understand things chage, and maybe I'm not able to. What appears to be happening has more to do with changing the 70 point grading system than enhancing the Registry. In doing so, I recognize the value it might add to some "tweener coins". In most cases, those tweener coins already had that bump priced in. My gosh, do we need to change the entire system to do that?
In the end, I need to decide if it's worth my trouble staying active in the Registry, or go back to "collecting", like I used to.

I agree with everything you said, except for the last sentence! Explain how this affects our coins in the Registry. They are still the same coins
and we feel the same about them, so how does that change anything whether they are in the Registry, or listed on a piece of paper in your
file drawer? Either you like them, or you don't.

And to add I see this as a big thing to the dealers that sell to the investors in the hobby not to the true collectors or even that much to the registry collectors. Very few of the registry top collectors actully make there own coins most are bought from the dealers who make the big submissions and seem to to garner most of the TOP POP coins.
I love being able to share my collection with others via the Registry. Adding images is the best! I also appreciate looking at other's collections. My thought that I didn't explain, was to go back to collecting without listing coins. I'm very competetive. And in some cases I've bought coins that I wouldn't normally buy to be "competetive". The addition of a new level might cost me.

From the earliest days of the Registry, competition has swelled and more participants with more resources have entered
the lists. It didn't take me long to figure out there's no way to win. I'm just trying to get to 90% these days so I can
return and see my collection after it's gone. We only save them for others anyway.
I will have no incentive to send in a bunch of slabs for pluses just to tread water. You stated it correctly that this is a round about
way to change from the 70 point grading system to spur slab turn over. Some will play, some won't!

More than 2/1 in favor of "Who Cares"
I don't believe it

Why is the curtain still down
Obviously, they should get more points.
