Merger of the "Big Three"...

PCGS, NGC and Anacs have announced the merger of the three top recognized coin grading certification services to form a single non-profit organization whose stated purpose is to provide consistency of grading, authentification, and security to the collecting public.

With the merger other changes including a PQ designation, counterfeit deterrent technology, and photographic record of all coins certified will become the norm.

Mr. Hall.... just send my check to the address on my membership. Thanks.

Hey... it could be??? Probably not huh? Oh yeah... I made it all up.

Re: Slabbed coins - There are some coins that LIVE within clear plastic and wear their labels with pride... while there are others that HIDE behind scratched plastic and are simply dragged along by a label. Then there are those coins that simply hang out, naked and free image

Perhaps my attempt at humor didn't translate to a public post effectively image

I could go for this. One could market grade and one could do technical grading while the 3rd...........well, let's just throw all the red, AT, overgraded and counterfeit and foreign crap their way. image

"Non-profit" ... not as far fetched as it may seem.

Check out the salaries for non-profit executives and "consultants" and you will see why many of them are "non-profit."

That said, per the OP's idea ... not a chance.

  • You all have it wrong, wrong, wrong! It is a NEW slab pocket remote. When you press button #1, you will hear David Hall himself describe the coin from date to mm to grade and any highlights of said coin (much like his short Heritage auction videos). For an additional fee you may also purchase from PCGS, the pocket remote deluxe (two button version) which will activate the holographic image of David Hall describing said coin in full 256K color as well! And if THAT wasn't enough, you will also be able to purchase a mini white foldout polycarbonate screen (pocket size, of course) so that you will be able to show your collector friends or potential buyers the video along with the audio presentation at home, in your car, on a plane (check with your carrier of preference, as certain restrictions may apply) or at any other venue of your choosing. PCGS will also contract a third party voice authentication service which, for a small yet undetermined fee, will verify that your audio/video is in FACT real and not a well manufactured Chinese knock off.
