Decimal Grading? Okay, I must have missed an important thread.

I hear a rumor(?) that PCGS will start decimal grading. I can't find any information on this. Can someone please direct me to where I can read more? Thanks!

  • It is speculation based on the new bar code announced on the web site.

From Legend's website on a particular coin...

<< <i>SONNIER COLLECTION. We grade the colors MS66.5. Like the 92CC, 85CC's are not coins we have seen with a lot of cool original colors. >>

Color is MS66.5? My bet is Legend is purposely tipping their hand here. They want us to know they know.

    Your thoughts?
There is no "AT" or "NT". We only have "market acceptable" or "not market acceptable.

Oh, so there wasn't any sort of real tip then? Maybe there will be no decimal system?

Right. No tip. Just a new bar code that has room for a grade variable. You can read about it on PCGS's site, front page.

Read the threads about the big one, dreck, etc. several of them might go poof in the morning.
