Grade this 1920's Mercury Dime

hi, I just wanted to hear feedback on this coin. I bought it in trip to Mexico for 100 pesos this past December in a coin shop.

Super rare, reverse of Washington quarter, reverse of Mercury Dime variety.

I'd guess 64FB (weak strike) but since the reverse is so nice, I'll go 65FB. The bands may be pinched and not FB - hard to tell without a closeup.

Pretty nice score for 100 pesos!
  • You did very, very well.
  • Typical weak strike on the 20 Merc. 64FB or 65FB.

Put me down for MS65 FB for the originality. Isn't 100 Pesos about $10 or so U.S.
right now? Sounds like a candidate for "You Suck!" to me. Of course, including airfare,
hotel and incidentals, maybe your real cost is much higher.image

I just noticed that you are fairly new to the boards -- "You Suck!" is a compliment
    on a really nice purchase.

I do not get the weak strike comments on this dime. Thats about as good as it gets for a 20S. Tad weak at the rims but everything else is struck up. Did you buy it in the plastic or did you send it in? If you bought the coin for 10 bucks or so thats a hell of a buy.

These are excellent coins in a good state of preservation. I like them just like most coins.
