Charmy's Toned Lincoln NEWPS!!!
Also just got these from Todd - these are some of the pretty toned Lincoln cents I picked up recently so I thought I'd share them here before I put them away! I know the 1927-S is only MS62 which is below what I usually collect, but it's so hard to find these that look nice (mostly due to their typical weak strike), and I think it has a really pretty look and is a little undergraded. And I already had a pretty 1972 double die that has this same look and color, but I liked this one a little better than my other one.

<< <i>Nice cents....except how the heck did that 57 get a 66?!?! Gouge in forehead, scratch in hair, yada yada. >>
Probably the same reason the 1956 got the same grade with all those specks and marks on the reverse and the ones in the field on the obv..... subjectivity, yada yada.

Guess you're either not a fan of NGC or you don't know much about weakly struck Lincolns. As I mentioned, 1927-S was a commonly weakly struck coin, and is definitely uncirculated.

Actually it's a late die state. The strike is above average.
I got into currency lately and the more you post these, the more I want to get back into coins.. This time, CHARMY GRADE coins! Which are usually the highest..
So please, STOP!!!!
Some purdy copper regardless of the grades that are or are not on the holders. Nice.
Fellas, leave the tight pants to the ladies. If I can count the coins in your pockets you better use them to call a tailor. Stay thirsty my friends......

Jay, I think he was being funny because the first one is a double die

Oh please. You know you bought the plastic on the 27s, 56 and 57.

I wasn't picking on her in fact I was supporting her. FYI- The wink is for sarcasim . I was referring to the fact the coin is a doubled die reverse thus "the blurry" comment.
It also tied into the fact I thought others were being a little picayune. Thus, a double entendre. Of course that is just my opinion. Don't you have some bad videos to shoot or something?

I'm willing to bet the pricing on a 57 in 66 ain't that big of a deal due to how common the coin is likely in upper grades. But that coin ain't no 66...it might even deserve a 64. The grader was probably ready to go home at the end of the day when he got to that coin.

Guess you don't know me very well, otherwise you'd know that I buy coins specifically for their toning and look, regardless of the holder and sometimes regardless of the grade.

No, I have some good videos to shoot though.
It's sometimes hard to tell sarcasm from a bold statement. Guess I missed it.

I have bought a lot of 62's and in the past i have cracked them and sent them back in to be graded. I would say 80 percent came back in 63 holders and 1 went to a 58. 2 stayed in 62 holders. To me a 62 is just a strange grade.

p.s. For folks who missed it, my husband and I are getting tickets to see Tom Petty during the Long Beach show in early June and since Rick Snow is a fan too, I offered to get him a ticket so he could go with us. But since he made "certain comments" about my Large cent in this THREAD, I had to.... well, let's just say that blackmail is a strong word, but you get the drift!
