Got Textile??? Well lets see it here....

My newest Morgan purchase and it's one of those coins that you know the minute you see it that you will pay whatever it takes to add it to your collection. It is extremely rare to find a coin with this much textile coverage on one side.....in this case I would say it's nearly 75% and outside of the textile spots the coin is about as neon as you will find with an amazing array of color. So....if you have a textile toned Morgan......please post it here for all to see

I don't know about that, but someday they may become proficient at it. I do know, however, that even a 4-yr old can doctor a coin and make it white.

Please tell us how it's done or show us. Since the doctors already know, please enlighten us. It would be a great educational piece.

While I don't think all toning is alike...I agree with the rest of what you say. Counterfeiters make cold hard cash because they can and that has to be a lot harder then toning a coin that is made of a reactive medal. With that said, while I have seen some convincing fakes when it comes to standard toning....I have yet to see a textile toned coin faked and would be curious if someone has an image of one? I hear a lot of talk on these boards about what can and can not be done without a shread of evidence.

You see folks.....on here people don't need proof of anything to try to damage the hobby for some.....they can be as careless and reckless with their statments as they want without having to back anything up.
Example: You can not have a silver coin remain white for a hundred years without dipping it unless it remained in a vacuum.
Now I can't prove this....and it's probably not true but who cares....we aren't on these forums to type the truth right......only state our opinions as facts?

I agree wholeheartedly! But I also believe that people who dip the daylights out of a coin to make it white, are also guilty of doctoring. It is sickening to go to a show and see coins with that unnatural "bleached white" look. I feel a coin should be left in its natural state, and not doctored in any manner. But that is my opinion, and others will feel differently. So, it is important that each of us select only those coins which meet our collecting needs, while simultaneously understanding that others collect coins which may not be what we like.
And regarding the textile toners in this thread, all I can say is that these are some incredible coins!!!
