SAMPLE PCGS & NGC Coins?

I have two "sample" PCGS Roosevelts (1961 MS65 & 1964-D MS64). Each of them are labeled as samples with # 654321.(64 or 65)/12345678 and have the old green inserts

I also have three "sample" NGC 1962 Roosevelts. Each of these are labeled as "sample" & graded "FA00" with #s 145534-019, -040 & -047

Anyone know what they're all about and if they even have the slightest value above melt?

Cameron Kiefer is the person that knows these. From your descriptions, I would guess they are worth at least $10 each, possibly more.

Do an ebay search for "sample slab" and you'll have your answer.

Cameron will make the final call, but I saw several at the Vegas show 2 weeks ago--1964-D Roosie Rattlers, priced at about $30. They hadn't sold and were in a box of dozens of sample slabs of different generations. I thought they were rare until I saw that box of them. Honor Coin and Stamp, Traverse City, MI. Fun guys. I bought some stuff and they were great. They might have some more info on samples.

As mentioned they are not really rare but worth more as a slab than the melt value of the coin.
One note check the bands on the coins as I don't think they checked them when making those samples.
I have a 1962-D that I think has full bands and is not designated if it was a 65 I would think about cracking it.

I'm not sure if anyone is still maintaining that site. I've tried to order the book via their email address several month ago, but never got a response.

If you have questions, you can pm Cameron - he posted here a few days ago.

Also, if you're still interested in the slab book, you can contact Conder101 directly - he's pretty active across the street.

Thanks for the info everyone! Very much appreciated! Had these slabs for years now.... no recollection of how I got them. Nice to have though.
