A change from "CAC" and the "Big One". Would you buy this coin if it was offered to you? Why? Why not?

After a light dip to get rid of some crud and bring out luster this is what it looks like. It still retains some tone and a pleasing light gray color.

A little dip might fix that ugly obverse; so if the price was right, then yes.

That is one ugly Merc. If it were cheap, yes, then a judicious dip, and it may be worth looking at. Cheers, RickO

I voted, "if the price was right."
Tough call in a way. FB's on a pleasing enough reverse. But the spot on the obverse is awfully distracting...

I like it . . . At the right price! Obv seems to have almost a woodgrain looking toning pattern.
The only thing that would concern me is if the spot on the L is into the metal . . . Then no (unless it was REALLY cheap).

Need the following OBW rolls to complete my 46-64 Roosevelt roll set:
    1947-P & D; 1948-D; 1949-P & S; 1950-D & S; and 1952-S.
Any help locating any of these OBW rolls would be gratefully appreciated!

The risk/reward method of buying hit my mind when a "Immediate" decision was made on this coin. I'll let this go for a hour or two and then show another picture.

I actually agree with ricko... dip it, if the price was right...

I feel so dirty saying that! image
