Cmon Rick, every coin needs love!
Life would be somewhat boring if we all liked the same thing. But, I would have to agree with the above statement.
I never understood what is attractive about a blotchy looking coin.
Another example is a Pollack painting. They are coveted in the Art world and sell for fortunes.
Try as I might to understand and appreciate his work, it still looks like paint splashed on a Canvas to me.
Nice pickup! I like it even if Rick-O does not.

<< <i>Okay, everyone knows I am not a tarnish lover. That being said, that coin is horrible.. even beyond what some would say is attractive tarnish. It looks as if it was dipped in Pepsi and allowed to air dry. Blecchhhh.... Cheers, RickO >>
I love Pepsi!

But it was how the paint was splashed on the canvas- that is what 'art' is about.
Juat like toning to a certain coin- the beauty is within the eye of the beholder.
Now this particular Franklin that the OP has shown looks original and is or was at its peak when plucked from its environs and thus placed in a plastic version of metamorphosis to forever (or for the next 20 years) remain as it may have been seen the day it was submitted.
I like it for originality
my score= a 90.72 (A)

I always look forward to your reply Rick-O. Fact is, a toned coin thread is not truly complete unless you've left your mark. It's kind of like the 4 descenting opinions right now on the US Supreme Court, they're consistent, they're always in the minority, and they're usually right.
Plus, I've been thinking this is a great ploy for you as you march your way to 20K posts and no-one will accuse you of spamming.
Keep on'
