Not true.....what if you complain and complain that you never got the card, even though signature confirmation has your name plastered all over it...then file a PayPal dispute??? Is that worthy of a positive feedback?

or better yet..speaking from personal experience....you claim that PSA got it wrong...the card is a fake, yet PSA slabbed it....I ask you to return it for a full refund, so you send a package back, with cracked empty PSA slabs in it, in an attempt to get your money back and keep the cards!!!! Is that worthy of a postive feedback because payment was received!?!?!?!?!?!

I have had a buyer be a complete a-hole to me and I stated in my "positive feedback" that the transaction was completed but their communication was horrible. How could I have possibly done that if I left feedback only for receiving payment.

Although I do not like sellers withholding feedback deliberately, finally someone made a logical argument for doing so. Still will not help your position. I think you would be better off to have left feedback.

the buyer can have this comment removed as sellers cannot under an circumstance leave a buyer anything - in a + feedback.

So be it. But a lot of eBayers don't know that and it would stick. I always post honest feedback no matter what.

Your reasons for waiting are logical, but this is a situation where I don't think it makes much sense to make a stand. By waiting, you have left yourself the option to give an honest opinion in the feedback you leave for the buyer. Every now and then the buyer will be a jerk, you make your comment.....what have you gained? Who is even going to notice it?
Meanwhile, by not leaving feedback first, you are leaving yourself open to criticism from psycho buyers in the form of low DSR's, neuts, and negs- even if you did everything right! Is it fair? Absolutely not. But that's the situation EBay has created for its sellers.

You are standing by your principles, and doing what you feel is "right." I can respect that, and maybe that alone is worth it to you. But there's no upside (at least not that I can see) beyond that.

Of which we would not include discussions on an Internet message board on various approaches to Ebay feedback.

As a seller, I leave FB as soon as payment is received. I dont feel the buyer has any more responsibility to the transaction once payment is completed.

As a buyer, I will NEVER leave feedback until I have received it, but again, I dont feel the seller has any responsibility whatsoever to leave me feedback, it is his job to get me my item as quickly and as safely as possible.

Feedback is nothing more than an ebay game to take your mind of the fact that they are a bunch of idiots. Same goes with Powersellers, DSR ratings, insertion specials, etc etc. Nothing more than something to divert your attention. Treat it as such.
IT IS ALWAYS CHEAPER TO NOT SELL ON EBAY

Agreed. Like storm mentioned, the way the new ebay scheme is set up, sellers have nothing to gain by NOT leaving feedback. So the only idiots are the sellers who ignore buyers request for feedback.

    I'm an idiot

  • << <i>Leaving a neg because a seller did not leave you FB is absolutely asinine. >>

Tell that to the new ebay member just starting out who needs feedback. You're still living under the OLD ebay rules.

I have to say, the whole system seems to favor the buyer - both paypal and ebay.

I now leave feedback when I ship an item to the buyer. I have received a negative feedback not long ago. Wanna know what it said? "Doesn't leave feedback until you do". Feedback is worthless since you can only give positive ratings to buyers and not the actual truth so may as well leave it upfront. At least this way you can avoid the morons that live & die eBay waiting for you to screw up so they can leave you a Neg. As a buyer I don't bother to leave feedback. As a seller I have 10,000 feedback score, Should be closer to 20,000 but half of buyers don't bother leaving it like myself.
