If you wished to collect coins from one year & one denomination?
If you wished to collect coins from one year and one denomination what would that year/demonimation be?
The 1794s of course is one of the most famous years...I like the 1834 and 1839 Middle Date Large Cents and soon I'll be selling everything
to collect 1798 pennies.

<< <i>I would imagine a number of our CBH Overton or Morgan/Peace VAM collectors could have a field day with this. >>

<< <i>Easy answer, I would collect 1827 Capped Bust Half Dollars, but not all 49 varieties. Four marriages are way too expensive for me. There are also ten late die states listed in Overton, for a total of 59. >>
You can't have them, Tom. They're mine--ALL MINE!
<< <i>1878 dollars - gold, silver, trade, even paper >>
so many varieties seems like a great year

WTF is going to control what I collect?
<< <i>Time and time again I see these posts and wonder, Why can I only collect one type or one date? WTF is going to control what I collect? >>
Coin collectors are often extremely obsessive. The most likely cause would be just that--an obsession. --Jerry

I don't know what WTF means but I changed my post to wished to collect...I apologize as I did not intend
to issue a promulgation.

<< <i>1787?? Is that a dark side answer??
He'd have his choice of a bunch of early American coins including (among others):
Connecticut Coppers
Vermont Coppers
New York Coppers
Immunis Columbia Coppers
New Jersey Coppers
Auctori Plebis Tokens
Fugio Coppers
Nova Eborac Coppers
Massachusetts Coppers
I think it's a great choice.
1804.
Dollars.
Guess I never thought of those as one denomination. Thanks for opening my eyes.
<< <i>No Brainer. 1795 Type set >>

Fugio cents, and I agree.
<< <i>Without thinking about it too much I'd say 1909 cents cause I like indian cents and Lincolns. >>
You get 4 Lincoln cents and 2 Indian cents as business strikes, plus 3 proofs (2 Lincolns and 1 Indian), plus a DDO and a couple of RPMs (at minimum)... sounds like a pretty diverse one year/one denomination set!
60 years into this hobby and I'm still working on my Lincoln set!
