If you wished to collect coins from one year & one denomination?

If you wished to collect coins from one year and one denomination what would that year/demonimation be?

The 1794s of course is one of the most famous years...I like the 1834 and 1839 Middle Date Large Cents and soon I'll be selling everything
to collect 1798 pennies.

I would imagine a number of our CBH Overton or Morgan/Peace VAM collectors could have a field day with this.

My first reaction was to quit coin collecting, but for some reason, I am drawn to the 1850 $20. I guess that would be my answer.

1928-S SLQ, it's one of the series that I collect, and I am drawn to this specific coin anyhow. It's got a myriad of die varieties, RPMs, etc.

Easy answer, I would collect 1827 Capped Bust Half Dollars, but not all 49 varieties. Four marriages are way too expensive for me. There are also ten late die states listed in Overton, for a total of 59.
I collect Capped Bust series by variety in PCGS AU/MS grades.

I'll admit I had to do some checking, in the other thread I opted against 1936. I will go with 1937 half dollars, that would include commems and there were some nice issues that year.

Without thinking about it too much I'd say 1909 cents cause I like indian cents and Lincolns.

1794 cents can't be beat. there are better years but there are not enough varieties in any other years. --Jerry

Time and time again I see these posts and wonder, Why can I only collect one type or one date?

WTF is going to control what I collect?

Coin collectors are often extremely obsessive. The most likely cause would be just that--an obsession. --Jerry

I don't know what WTF means but I changed my post to wished to collect...I apologize as I did not intend
    to issue a promulgation.

1652 Pine Tree Shillings by Noe varieties. About 31 coins including possible counterfeits. What a challenge!

How about 1795 eagles? Maybe only two designs (9 and 13 leaves), but it'd be a nice pair! image

I can see the Gold Dollars from 1857 as an interesting collection. 4 mints and a lot of differences in the coins looks.

He'd have his choice of a bunch of early American coins including (among others):
    Connecticut Coppers
    Vermont Coppers
    New York Coppers
    Immunis Columbia Coppers
    New Jersey Coppers
    Auctori Plebis Tokens
    Fugio Coppers
    Nova Eborac Coppers
    Massachusetts Coppers

    I think it's a great choice. image

    Interesting answer.

    Half cent lettered edge
    Half cent plain edge
    Cent lettered edge
    Cent plain edge
    Half dime
    Half dollar
    Half dollar sm head
    Dollar
    Dr bust dollar
    $5
    $5 lg eagle
    $10

The $5 lg eagle was made later than 1795 though.

You get 4 Lincoln cents and 2 Indian cents as business strikes, plus 3 proofs (2 Lincolns and 1 Indian), plus a DDO and a couple of RPMs (at minimum)... sounds like a pretty diverse one year/one denomination set!
