Contact seller question on Ebay

If you are a seller on Ebay do you ever not get questions that a potential bidder has sent. I just won a coin where I had sent the seller 4 different questions over a perion of 7 days and no replies to any of them. After I won and I got an invoice I asked again about the questions and the seller said that she did not get them. Is this a glitch or a lack of responding?

Did you contact the seller through Ebay's system or through a private email?

If it's through Ebay's system they ignored the question.

If it's through a private email you may have gone to the spam folder.

Ebay sends out 2 copies per question...One goes to your email address on record and the other one will be in your unread message folder located in your eBay acct.

Seller is full of bs if they claim they did not receive them. They responded to your last one, did they not,? (pocketpiececomem)

Likely if not definitely the seller received the questions. Frankly, I find that almost all of those asking questions never bid and never buy - may be similar personality types to those who constantly look at cars, homes, and other things with no real intentions of buying. So as a seller, ya have to budget your time and if ya sell a lot, ya just have to judge whether or not ya have a legitimate buyer.

I normally respond to "detailed" questions - "general" type questions that are obvious or apparent in the auction, I tend to ignore. I'm on ebay to sell, not to "entertain".

I agree....the one's with the questions are NOT going to be the buyers. I think maybe 1 or 2 of the many, many questions asked come from eventual buyers and those usually ask if they can pay by USPS money order (of course)

I also agree that the seller received the questions when you asked them. One of them never leaves Ebay and just moves to his "Messages" file. The other one goes to his email on file. So if he didn't get that one then he also shouldn't get the confirmation of the sale from Ebay......Nope...He got 'em

Since I buy alot of raw commems on ebay it is important for me to know a little bit more about a pic or a description. If I ask a question it is not because I am "just a looker".

if i send a question and do not get a response then i do not bid on the item. as hard as it at times not to do that.

I got one yesterday with a slabbed coin in my pic, "Is that the coin I will receive?"

The seller got the questions. If I sent four questions to a seller and got no response, I'd spend my money elsewhere.

How about when selling a PF 70 1988 Silver Eagle:

"Can you guarantee that it really is silver???"

    Blocked that dude immediately.......image

Touche, that is a fair question. Many times the coin posted is "representative" of the one you will get. Do not assume what you see is what you get unless it says so in the listing. -planchet

A seller that ignores questions about his item is one to stay away from.

I never check messages on the eBay system, only email. If a message gets filtered incorrectly, I won't get it, even if it's there for me in the eBay system. I've had some things get filtered weirdly in my email before, so I wouldn't discount the sellers story.

  • So maybe he didn't get the message because he didn't read his messages ......Great if you need to contact him after the saleimage

Seller misses four questions while the auction is running, but gets a message fine after the bidder wins? I'll discount the sellers story.
