Any chance this Continental Curency is genuine?
The only thing I know about these is what I have learned from this board - Any chance this is authentic?

Edited to add ---Now that you've added pics of the edge, agree with CCU that it's not genuine and probably a copy that was sold as a souvenir and then carried as a pocket piece or artificially circulated to give it the look of a really old coin.

<< <i>Btw for the future what should the edge look like? >>
Genuine examples of the "common" varieties (of which this is one) have an interlocking leaf design on the edge very much like what you see on Pillar Dollars.
99% of the copies we see have a plain edge, like yours.
I knew it would happen.
Now, I guess one could say that that it is not impossible that someone rubbed the edge completely smooth for some reason.
I also cannot rule out the possibility that this is a one-of-a-kind rarity struck as a pattern with a plain edge or something.
But if I am wearing my Occam's Razor hat, then I would say that these scenarios are considerably less likely than the first one, which is that this is a typical reproduction that has been heavily worn either as a pocket piece, or intentionally in order to deceive someone. Noting that if that is indeed the case, they did a convincing a job, because the obv and rev look pretty deceptive to me.
I would definitely take the chance and send it in.
