Grade or not Grade

I purchased (2) 2008 W Gold Buffalo $5 - 1/10 oz. the day the Mint released them. The value has risen above the $129. I paid for them. Would I better off to have them graded now and who would you recommend PCGS or NGC? Or should I just leave as they are? Will there be a greater return graded compared to selling raw? Also if I have them graded should I pay to have a special Label such as 1st year release?

I would submit them to PCGS and play the MS/PR70 lottery. If you do be sure to keep the coin capsules with the OGP.

There is no 'first year release' label that I have seen (I lead a sheltered life, so I could be wrong). If you purchased them to sell, how much profit are you seeking? Grading will diminish that profit (further investment). Profit = price realized minus investment. To get technical, it also should include a deduction for the amount equivalent to what you would have made if the funds had been gathering interest. Cheers, RickO
