Latest collection purchase (photo intensive)

Hey guys, just picked up a really neat collection and since I have no friends or family that gives a rip about cards, thought I'd share it with the board again. Almost completely comprised of stars and rookies, enjoy the pics.

My daughter was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of 2 (2003). My son was diagnosed with Type 1 when he was 17 on December 31, 2009. We were stunned that another child of ours had been diagnosed. Please, if you don't have a favorite charity, consider giving to the JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation)

For obvious reasons, I have suspicions with that card. I'm guessing it was trimmed, but can't tell without busting it out.

Wayne Varner is who I thought of as well.
Anyway, nice cards.
<< <i>This is a very nice collection. Tell me something, did these pictures come with the collection or did you arrange them neatly for the purpose of displaying them here? I ask because I'm always interested in those who like to display and promote their material things vs those who are merely happy about what they have and don't care if anyone else knows? I've actually done research into this phenomenon and the psychological needs of some for validation through this kind of expression.

Do I get paid for participating in this study? jk. For me, one of the most enjoyable parts of this hobby is the camaraderie and sharing of material between collectors. For me, my favorite threads on this board are when other collectors share their cards, hobby rooms, stories, etc. Also, as I originally stated, my wife and other family members have zero interest in cards, and think I'm a quack for collecting them, so these boards and emails between collectors are my only avenue to help me feel normal.
So does the cardboard itself or the experiences and people of the hobby drive my passion?? Good question, I guess I couldn't have one without the other.

Raw: Tony Gonzalez (low #'d cards, and especially 1/1's) and Steve Young.
By the way, what an INSANE pick up!! Thank you for sharing your pics with us! I especially enjoyed looking at the Brooks Robinson cards! I really really need one of those '57s and that '67. Some day...

Wow, I saw hooker and then misread the word Curt as something TOTALLY different.
Was this person a weekend warrior who got tired of tryin to unload stuff at the local saturday/sunday gala at the "Church of Our Lady of Perpetual Motion?"

Yeah, I'm not holding my breath on the Clemente. However, I recently bought a collection that had about 15-20 Pro graded cards, and all but two crossed over fine (a grade or two lower of course), but you'd be surprised how many collectors out there don't understand the differences and risks involved between the different grading companies and opt to choose Pro due to the lower costs and higher grades.

That's a great answer. And thanks for sharing the photos. While I no longer purchase baseball card, I do enjoy looking and seeing the passion collectors have.
My passion is collecting pre-war soccer cards now. While I may not find a passionate audience on this message board, I think many collectors can appreciate all sports and sport history. It is also about expanding horizons -
