How many people here think I was trying to pawn off a Fake Roy Rookie ??

Read the other thread and I think someone is accusing me of such?
Did anyone else think that?
and why if you did?

The post didn't advertise anything for sale.

look: your threads are fishy. they raise red flags. of course you have not advertised anything for sale, we all know better (hopefully) than to buy a fake.
It looks like you're here for information to pawn these off as real on eBay or in person to a novice.

I have no dog in this here fight, but did YOU really say that? Really?
Am I feeling the "Got to pay something and then see the card Burned/Destroyed", thread coming on?

Aren't you the guy who sells/sold Gretzky fakes. And you are giving this guy a hard time?

I've sold fake Gretzky cards, and given some away, but each time the person knows what they are getting, I never pawned them off.
I'm not saying smitty is doing this, only that his threads seem fishy and maybe (as I have learned from experience) he should approach this topc of fakes differently.

IMHO, selling fakes, even if they're clearly labelled as fakes, is contributing to the dark side of the hobby. How do you know that the buyer will pass on the disclaimer when HE sells the item?? If I was an Ebay scummy seller, I'd LOVE to find guys selling good fakes cheap so I don't have to make my own. Same with guys selling vintage wrappers cheap - how can ANYONE think they aren't going to get used to commit fraud??

Oh, you didn't know? If you have a high post count around here, it's okay to sell fake cards and forged autos. If you have a low post count, you get attacked when you say anything negative towards the high post counters that deal in fakes.

Got one right on this board. He himself even posted his own PM on a thread here stating i will sell the cards but when someone comes along and needs a filler for their binder, or something to have until the can afford the original, i'll sell them.

Now? This is just another thread cluttering the boards with meaningless information.

IMV, there is ZERO chance that Smittys is trying to sell fakes on this board.
It is getting a little "strict" around here when folks cannot post guessing games
without being accused of fraud.
The best way for folks to learn the difference between real/fake is to handle the
items in person. The next best way is to examine scans.
Every serious collectible dealer I have EVER known has owned examples of counterfeit
items; being able to compare known fakes to walk-in-offerings keeps ZILLIONS of fakes
in the hands of the crooks and out of consumers' collections.

My sentiments exactly Stormy.
I enjoy when people challenge me about what is real and not.
A response thread like this just invites all kinds of crap and can be derailed in a nanosecond.
