If your company is too big to answer emails about sales then its time to hire someone. I don't feel like this is a good enough excuse for me? While I haven't agreed with some of Patrick's posts in the past, I totally agree with him on this issue. OCSI should have handled it when Patrick originally emailed. But then to come on here and try to make excuses and question him was just salt on the wound. Doesn't matter if its a $12 card or a $1200 card, its the principle of the matter.

We are still trying to forget the thread you bumped 30-40 times on wanting your $10 in cards because of "the principle." So, I dont imagine you are suggesting Mullins was out of line for starting a thread where a major PSA graded card seller was ignoring him and auctioning a card they had already sold him.
Collecting PSA graded Steve Young, Marcus Allen, Bret Saberhagen and 1980s Topps Cards. Raw: Tony Gonzalez (low #'d cards, and especially 1/1's) and Steve Young.
I'm not gonna waste my valuable time reading this whole thread over a hockey card, let alone a stinkin' Mike Bossy card. I've had nearly 100 transactions with Nate and the guys @ OCSI, and I hope it was determined that the OP got the card and lost it or something like that. Besides, I thought the OP made a thread a while back about how he was trying to sell his registry?

I would like to see some fairness in this discussion...
I just went back and re-read the OP - and to be fair to Patrick - I don't think he was throwing anyone under the bus.
He did NOT know this seller was a board member - but that would've been moot in a sense that this person never posts here. This person has come to this forum 3 times in the last 2 yrs and they were ALL spams. The other posts were to the Set Reg Forum and the B/S/T Forum.
So I think we owe Patrick the benefit of the doubt on this one IMO.

It's one thing to feel a little put out because a deal (albeit a very low dollar deal, and yes the dollar amount does matter) goes bad. It's quite another to ask the seller to stick his neck out to correct it. There was no malicious intent here, it was clearly just an honest mistake. Seems Patrick has had more drama with his Bossy collection over the past year or so than any other collector that posts here.
Also, since when is it proper board policy to publicly post private messages? Someone goes the extra mile to help out then gives the OP the what for and the OP posts a private message. Sorry Patrick, but that is bush league!!!
Obviously, there was a lack of communication and follow through by the seller and subsequently by the buyer on the original transaction. Way too much drama for me . . .

That's "one" of the mistakes that I alluded to Scott.
But, in fairness to Patrick - he did what a zillion people have done here - posted about an item - mentioned the seller - then asked if anyone knows the seller?
Where's the beef in that?
I like Joe - we're friends - I think he could've been a bit more diplomatic in his PM - but I agree - PM's should stay private.
This seller - who I have no axe to grind one way or the other - is NOT a supporter or contributor to this forum - plain and simple - just an occasional spammer - as I said - I checked their posts - 3 times in 2 yrs - all referring to a seller venue which obviously they're a part of?
I think this should be put to bed.
They've all made mistakes and I think compounding it only is gonna make it worse IMO.
Man, I took a little nap and this thing exploded. FWIW, I've never done business with the seller, but given the amount of good dealings with most here, I wouldn't hesitate to do so. I believe they made a mistake in Patrick's case, and he was well within his rights to do what he did. I probably wouldn't have broadcast PMs, whether or not it was solicited by him, but that's just me. Also, the dollar amount of the deal in question is immaterial. Right is right, and Patrick's got documentation that he is right.
"...If I were Patrick - I woulda hit the BIN and talk afterwards - the FB leverage at that point would've taken care of any lack in communication IMO...."

That is usually the most simple solution.
........
I too have bought cards from OCSI; all transactions were uneventful. Large sellers make fulfillment errors, just like small sellers do.
.............
Due to the current consistency issues within TPGs, I do not want to buy collectibles based on "stock photos." All 9s are simply not created equal.
Folks Who Bite Get Bitten. Folks Who Don't Bite Get Eaten.
I know I will be more cautious when buying from OCSI from now on. Not because of the mistake, we all make mistakes. But due to their response here and lack of communication. How a company handles mistakes tells a lot about them, hopefully in the future they won't choose the ignore route.....it might just be another board member.

Keep in mind that most are going on the assumption that Patrick's details are the truth. I've always been one to believe that both sides have a story and the truth is somewhere in between. While not taking sides, there is a track record of Patrick having issues and he has already admitted he was lax in following through to get resolution to the original transaction.
Again, I'm not suggesting who is right or who is wrong, but this may not be a picture easily painted with such a broad brush...
this card obviously meant a lot to the buyer to bring this up a year later and also recognize it was the same cert number. with such an importance to the buyer I don't see how you let the time lapse for a paypal dispute. without checking, I believe you have at least 45 or 60 days to file a dispute. even if you missed the paypal timeline the buyer paid with his credit card and could have filed a charge back.
the high volume of the seller should have no bearing on handling a customer service issue. if you can't take care of your customers then hire more staff or cut back your listings.

I have has 3 situations with OCSI where I have paid for a group of 3 or more cards. When the package arrived, there were only 2 of the 3 cards I purchased. Upon e-mailing them, I have ALWAYS has my money refunded. They told me the card did exist in their inventory.
Collectors on this board are very very passionate about their collections, big or small, the money doesn't matter. That's why we are all here.
High volume sellers of tough to find, low pop, low demand cards will make mistakes. We all do. No one's perfect. Its not practical to give 10% of my attention to a sale that is 0.005% of my business.
No one is right or wrong. It got worked out. Let's get back to the hobby.

Got your back, Mike
Man, I took a little nap and this thing exploded. FWIW, I've never done business with the seller, but given the amount of good dealings with most here, I wouldn't hesitate to do so. I believe they made a mistake in Patrick's case, and he was well within his rights to do what he did. I probably wouldn't have broadcast PMs, whether or not it was solicited by him, but that's just me. Also, the dollar amount of the deal in question is immaterial. Right is right, and Patrick's got documentation that he is right.

<< <i>Whose creamy thighs do you think Patrick prefers: Bossy or Johansson? >>
Be careful , there may be a don't ask , don't tell rule here.
Never underestimate the power that Bossy may impose on some here. Its furor can be mighty.

I'd hit it even if there's EVIDENCE OF TRIM!

simply hit the Bin and go from there.
As for using a stock photo I think ebay allows that now, but it would be nice if
a seller would mention that in the listing.

I'm guessing there might be wax stains near the trimming...

Due to the current consistency issues within TPGs, I do not want to buy
collectibles based on "stock photos." All 9s are simply not created equal.
Raw: Tony Gonzalez (low #'d cards, and especially 1/1's) and Steve Young.
<< <i>I know I will be more cautious when buying from OCSI from now on. >>

However, I will say that PSASETGUY's initial response here left quite a bit to be desired, IMO.
this card obviously meant a lot to the buyer to bring this up a year later and also recognize it was the same cert number. with such an importance to the buyer I don't see how you let the time lapse for a paypal dispute. without checking, I believe you have at least 45 or 60 days to file a dispute. even if you missed the paypal timeline the buyer paid with his credit card and could have filed a charge back.
the high volume of the seller should have no bearing on handling a customer service issue. if you can't take care of your customers then hire more staff or cut back your listings.

Only because it's here, in public. Otherwise they will ignore communications.

<< <i>For what it's worth, I've purchased many cards from OCSI and I've never seen them use a stock image. >>

on ebay again and after allowing the PP time to elapse felt it was not worth his time
nor his energy to do a charge back with the CC company. Maybe he did in fact try
(not sure if he said he did or did not) The bottom line is he paid for something and did
not receive it. He did not come here and bash anyone, simply asked about a company.
Regardless of his past experiences with ebay in this case IMHO he is in the right.
As for him telling the truth he did prove that it was the same cert. He did prove that
he paid when he said he had.
Just because it is only a 10.00 - 15.00 card has no bearing in my mind, to him it could be
the most desirable Bossy out there.
OCSI could have answered his emails and this would never even have been made into a thread.

Edited to add - And I love Scarlett!!!
