opinions on a raw $2 1/2 indian

picked this one up a few days ago. Their is luster left in the fields yet but the cheek has some rub, eagles upper wing feathers are weakly struck. Don't be afraid to be critical because I got it pretty cheap so I really don't have any downside here. I took two photo's of each side in different light.

    I'm not good at grading gold, but I guess it would grade AU55, shot at 58. I don't see any major problems, so my guess is that it would slab and get an AU grade.

    Nice original AU coin. From what I can see this one appears genuine. This series has been heavily counterfeited. I like it.

    I agree with Longacre .. I am putting an xf45 set together and it looks similar to mine .. by the way my xf45 set is alot harder to assemble than any MS set image

    I have numerous examples of this series including three 11-D's and I would would wager that it's at least an AU55.

    AU and genuine, but I'm concerned about the spot to the left of the "L" in "LIBERTY." Is the reeding all there in that spot and is there an evidence of edge damage? Only reason I ask is because of concerns about ex jewelry.
    Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?

    If you agree with him, then you are also too tight on the grade of that coinimage I think it has a better shot at a low uncirculated grade than it does an XF one.

    Considering how dirty/crusty that coin is, I doubt it was ever used in jewelry. Also, most ex-jewelry coins have been shined up.

    Judging by what looks like a little rub, Ithink it may go AU55. It doesn't look overly bright, either.
