they think what happened is that she torn some muscles in the fall which is causing the shoulders to hurt so much. The rotator cuff is not torn, but has some damage around it. >>
Shoulder injuries can be the worse and can take some time to recover from. I had a biking accident where I literally went heads over the handle bars and landed on my shoulder. I was convinced I had broken it. X-rays came up negative and ended up in a sling which gave alot of relief. The worst thing is she can have a loss of motion requiring physical therapy. The pain will subside daily and will get better. It will probably be the better part of 7-10 days. Hopefully that will be the end of it.
Thankfully it wasn't worse. Tell the auditors to have a heart... Best of luck and I hope she'll be ok to enjoy Christmas with the kids

They did tell her she would have physical therapy to attend...forgot to add that.
When she's feeling a bit better, remind her that she promised you that Mantle card -- and since the Dr said she might have trouble remembering things, you just wanted to help her out.

Fortunately, she remembers everything. And as a woman she remembers a ton!! I don't think I could get this by her.
I'll settle for some George Bretts!!
I just got a bonus check today from work, so I will use some of that money to find some Bretts I don't have. It was a nice gesture from work ($600), but it is in lieu of a pay increase for next year.
Glad to hear she's on the road to recovery. My wife works in physical therapy and I can say from talking to her patients that it can work wonders. Shoulder injuries are some of the more painful to work through, but range of motion is dependant mostly on how hard the patient works with the therapist. Just be sure she does what the therapist asks her to. Best of luck with her recovery.
A fellow board member asked how things were going with my wife. Here's an update...
As for now, she went back to work Monday. Had an appt. with a physical therapist yesterday, I have to leave in 10 minutes to take her to our family doctor (she hasn't been cleared to drive yet) for an appt. Then next week she has a follow-up with a trauma doctor. She still has lots of pain, but it's getting better. She's at least able to sleep in the bed again. And starting to lift our children (which helps me out) for just a little bit of time. On a side note, her dad was rushed to the ER two nights ago while working. His acid reflux acted up and his leg went numb. They did a stress test and some other things and found nothing. Pray for health for us and our family in the coming year. This year was crazy.
Minnie ... I can relate to the "crazy health issues" over the past years. All you can do is take one day at a time and hope that tomorrow will be brighter. Some bad days will seem like they never end, but we all know there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Some of us just have longer tunnels to get thru.
May GOD watch over your family and make 2010 a HEALTHY YEAR for all of you!
STAY HEALTHY!
