Actually, the design does appear to be moderately acceptable. Not as nice as the Eagle, but interesting. Cheers, RickO

  • Although I like the intent of the design, I wish it was something ARTISTIC. This looks like it was designed in someone's MS Word clipart.

My eye tries to connect the arrows and I can't make the second arrowhead from the bottom meet the second tail shank!

I am not impressed with this design nor the mathematics involved.

Haudenosaunee... at first glance reminded me of some of the questions asked when going through a fast food drive through. imageimage

I like it. I hope the perspective on the coin is as pleasing as it is on this Hi res image.

Not terrible. But that $1 font. Uggh. It looks cartoonish. Way to make the whole thing look like an Indian casino token.

I like it too. I agree that the date should be taken off of the edge.

You're right. Look at the arrowheads. They are all evenly spaced. The tail shanks are not evenly spaced and other than the top arrow, the shanks don't line up with the arrowheads. Kinda reminds me of the first Morgan dollar reverses where the clutched arrows in the eagle's talons didn't line up properly, either. I wonder if the mint will fix it (like they did in 1878) and we'll end up with two reverse types???

I just got this reply from the mint:

<< <i>Thank you for your inquiry. We are unable to tell you whether the Circulating $1 Coin Direct Ship Program will continue after December 31, 2009. We hope you will continue to check our website for updates. >>

Also, check out how the 2nd arrow (from the bottom) appears high and its tail seems to be the lowest. I can see it already, Error: 2nd arrow high, 2nd arrow low, 2nd arrow bent.

One of the mint's better reverse designs.
