1898 Philadelphia Peace Jubilee held for three days in October of 1898, the Philadelphia Peace Jubilee celebrated the conclusion of the Spanish-American War and brought national attention to the City. The festivities included speeches, parades, and events to honor the country’s soldiers.

This variety HK-643-A is not listed in first, nor the latest edition of the HK SC$1 published book.

It's NGC MS62DPL and looking at the NGC Pops it's a Pop 1 SC$1.

Hard to photograph, much nicer in hand... Enjoy!

As a side not the reverse flag has 46 stars, there where only 45 states in 1898.

The bitterness of "Poor Quality" is remembered long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten.
  • It's for sale if interested, make me an offer before it goes to aution. Much more mirror like in hand and very reflective scuffs not as visible as in these pics, not my pics and some may be on holder which has since been polished. Reason for selling.. to help pay for the 2 new 1865 proof cams I just added to my registy set. See them in my link below.

In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?

HK-120 1878. CENTENNIAL OF THE BATTLE AND MASSACRE OF WYOMING PENNSYLVANIA
    imageimage

The Battle of Wyoming was an encounter during the American Revolutionary War between American Patriots, and Loyalists accompanied by Iroquois raiders that took place in the Wyoming Valley of Pennsylvania on July 3, 1778. More than three hundred Patriots were killed in a battle, some alleging the Iroquois raiders hunted and killed fleeing Patriots before torturing to death thirty to forty who had surrendered. One of 15 decisive battles that shaped the course of our War for Independence.
