Looks like were are entering an era where the empty Mint packaging is now going to see price rises. Same thing with the gold Eagle proofs.... if you don't have the original box, COA, etc.... you are not going to get that top dollar.
Lots of coins have been slabbed and boxes thrown away, and some like this buffalo there just are not that many around. Interesting.....
I would be rich

(no coins anymore though, a certain forum member bought me and my friends out of them and wouldn't take the damn boxes
I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment
<< <i>The 1/4 oz proof buffalo box should bring top dollar then since there are only 1331 of those around. Now all we have to do is get these boxes added to the Red Book.
Hope so, I have 3 of those!

I think the boxing champ (pun intended) is the 2006-W burnished Platinum Eagle $50. 2,577 coins minus 1,989 four-coin sets equals only 588 boxes!

I agree $500 is grossly overpriced but some of this is a reflection of the stupid premium being paid for proof AGEs with vs. without OGP and COAs.
I have reccomended in several other posts that people consider picking up buffalo packaging as a cheap speculative play but I didn't see this price coming!
Why else would someone pay that kind of $$ for an empty box ?

I have lots of those. PM me an offer. --Jerry

Or that they even know how to (or that they should) read!
