Found my first 2009 Coin in Circulation

Last night at a covenience store (inartfully named the "Cash and Carry Convenient Store"), I received my very first 2009 dated coin: a log cabin/birthplace cent. It was covered in ugly black spots (as were the ones that were in the "leave a penny, take a penny" tray. This has been the absolute longest it has ever taken me to find a current year coin in circulation.

Any one else not see a single 2009 coin in circulation?

I didn't get my first cent until September, no dimes, no nickels, have been seeing quarters a lot of the year, I don't even remember when I got my first. April comes to mind. But we go through a lot of quarters as we do not own a washing machine, so that percentage is kind of skewed.

I received my first 2009 cent in Louisville in October when I was there for my Navy ship's reunion. It is still the only one I have seen commercially. Cheers, RickO

Got a log cabin cent about three months ago, but no nickels, dimes or quarters yet. The 2009-D nickel business strike will be the key to the 2009 coinage.

I have recieved lots and lots of pennies (mostly Formative ) but no other denominations.

Ricko, I see 2009 cents daily and have for weeks now. Usually you see all the new coins and I don't . What happened?

I just received a "Professional Life" Lincoln from work the other day. So far I've gotten the first three there, and not in multiples either just one each time with other circulated Lincolns. Maybe the mint is mixing these up with already circulated cents to get them distributed?

Dimes and cent here. The Lincoln cent is just starting to appear in Northern California. The 2009D dimes have been out almost all year.

I haven't seen any nickels or dimes yet but I have seen lots of cents, a few quarters, and plenty of dollars, both sacs and pres.

For the year I have received five 2009 cents, one 2009 p nickel, and one 2009 p dime.
