How does this lady make you feel?

There's toning that gives a coin some extra eye appeal
and then
there is toning that helps the coin express it true beauty. Can you feel it?

I don't know how a coin can achieve such color in 9 years.
It may look beautiful but I would never buy one like it.

I collect all 20th century series except gold including those series that ended there.
<< <i>I've been collecting coins for 66 years and until I started over 5 years ago, had never seen one toned.

When it comes to toning silver eagles are among the fastest. Due to the metal composition of the silver eagle they tone very quickly and often very colorful. I am a bit confused by your statement however, you say you have collected for 66 years but never saw a toned coin until 5 years ago? Unfortunitly coin doctors took advantage of the silver eagles and did artificially tone several very quickly and the top grading companys slabbed numerous examples. Silver eagles are not something I would aquire or pay a premium for regardless of color but some are very attractive.

My quote is factual. After selling my complete collections of IHC, Lincolns and Liberty head nickels in the '60s so I could afford to raise my family, I felt
so regretful that I just didn't do anything with coins until I could afford to replace those.
Once that was done, I started filling empty holes in my other albums and resumed learning what I had missed out on for the last 40 years.

A pertinent post. Here is the first modern coin I have purchased, at less than $100 i thought it was a lot of numismatic bang for the buck. I don't think it screams AT but it is less than 14 years old and I wonder how, or why it would tone so quickly. In any event I enjoy it, probably won't be getting any more but find it fun.
I wrapped the coin in the napkin so it is on both sides.....
They are neat.....
<< <i>Hey Crazy4Coins, you still have those monster toned type coins? >>
Yep....still got them. I've actually added a few more. Can't seem to let myself part with them.
