Kind of PL, dipped, AU with secondary toning. That is all I can come up with from the images.

StinkinLincoln: In reply to your request, the 1834 CBH photos provided in this thread were taken by the original seller, and are all that I have at this time. However, I will try to photograph the coin over the weekend, and will post any new photos that I take on this thread.

It will be a very challenging coin for me to image to capture the reflectivity of the Prooflike surfaces and the attarctive light brown toning.

TomB: Your assessment about the Prooflike surfaces is accurate (ref: above comment).

As promised, here are some new digital photos that I took today of my recently purchased 1834 Capped Bust Half Dollar. The original seller's photos posted earlier in this thread were intended to show the prooflike surface reflectivity, which they accomplished.

The new photos that I took today using natural sunlight depict more of the coin's true color and details. Either way, I think that she's quite a looker!

but the original picture turned me off. After seeing your

new pictures, I am sorry now that I did not follow my

Thanks to all who have taken the time and made the effort to post about my new 1834 Capped Bust Half Dollar. In reply to some of your questions, this coin is graded PCGS AU-58, with semi-prooflike surfaces, and was purchased from Mark Feld.

As Mark can tell you, and as I have posted earlier in this thread, it is quite challenging to capture a digital image to accurately depict the coin's prooflike surface reflectivity. For me it required two sets of images, one to accomplish the above, and the other to properly illuminate the coin to depict surface preservation state, mint luster and color.

Les: In reply to your above quoted question, this was Mark's original description of my recently aquired 1834 Capped Bust Half Dollar:

1834 Capped Bust Half Dollar PCGS AU58
Large Date, Large letters. An absolutely stunning looking, wholly prooflike example highlighted by delicate golden color. Temptingly close to mint state and with fantastic flash and eye-appeal.

Sometimes. Mark has been getting better and better at it, so I've been doing fewer and fewer.
