Gold Proof Eagles

TheRavenTheRaven Posts: 4,148 ✭✭✭✭
I have 01 to 07 gold proof eagles (mostly 1/10 oz) coins.....

Should I liquidate these now with the high price of gold?

I don't see these having much numismatic potential in the future really.....

While the numismatic potential is certainly low, the PM potential still has upside. Your choice... Cheers, RickO

  • Only if you get $200/ea for them.

if you care about the bullion, then sell the proofs for the huge premium they are bringing and by the uncs. youll end up with more gold which Im assuming is what you are looking for
may the fonz be with you...always...

    Any other thoughts?

  • I would not take less than $1400 for the 7 pcs.

If you can get $1400 for them, and you can, then sell them now and enjoy.

I don't track the proofs, so I can't state so conclusively, but aren't the Proof AGEs hot right now? If so, you won't be too hurt by selling while gold is on the way up. (They've already made some nice gains, right?)

They where all purchased from the mint and are sitting in original boxes, so the 2001 probably cost me 43 bucks or something like that.....
