It's interesting how the thieves tried to sell with all the pubicity. Were they aware of the pubicity? How was the address where the coins were stashed obtained? And here's another daunting question; If they knew it would be difficult to sell, did they set their eyes on the reward money? I just find it unusal that someone could lead them to the coins and the thieves were no where to be found.
The recovery of the coins is great news. But the dealer who brought this to Julian's attention, is his life in jeopardy with the thugs who may have plans to return for the reward money?
Of course, everything could have unfolded through dumb luck and a couple of very stupid crooks who didn't realize the attention, reward money and publicity this crime received.

Thats awesome!!! I hope you can get most, if not all of your inventory back. But more importantly, I hope they catch the image people that did this.

Hopefully these are just garden-variety opportunistic street punks and not violent criminals. And hopefully they'll be in jail soon.

This is fantastic news Julian, and certainly great timing with the holidays upon us. I take it from your post that some of the higher-profile pieces are still missing. Undoubtedly they'll show up eventually when these guys start singing about their comrades in crime. Let us know as things progress. Best wishes and congrats.image

however they probably have to be secret accolades. >>

    And that reward money! >>

I agree, there are around 127,000 accolades due to that dealer. Excellent update to the story, thanks for sharing.

A far better outcome than I thought was possible when this first happened.

You want these guys treated to a Chicago style trip to the airport when they catch them?
