Using paypal gift and credit card???

Hey all, I understand that if you have money in your paypal account and you use the "gift" option to pay someone for coins, etc that there are no fees for the seller so many sellers here, ebay, etc like that option.
Is it possible to send money using your credit card on paypal as a gift or does that not work??
