Are T$1 a "good deal" right now?
From the looks of several dealers websites, there is a price correction of T$1 in the MS63 and MS64 grades of 25%ish. Does this make T$1 a "good deal" right now or will it be while until we see them at those level again? Has anyone noticed this for the MS60 to MS62 range?

In honor of the memory of Cpl. Michael E. Thompson
Chinese counterfeits.
Yes, folks are just shying away from the series as it seems to be the most faked
coin yet. Less interest = less prices.
The Chinese are getting much better at counterfeiting them as well. The "old" fakes
were really quite crude and today's are as well, but a lot closer to the real deal. There
are way more fakes on the market than real ones and it's obvious when you do a search
on Ebay. This just makes folks nervous about the series.
Good time to buy in my opinion (in the PCGS, NGC or ANACS plastic).

Okay, in 1969, I went into a "junk store / pawn shop" with my grandfather. In a display case, they had some coins that attracted my attention (I already new about Morgans, Peace etc) but these coins were different and new to me.
I ask my GF , "What are those?"
He said, " Those are trade dollars made for China"
I said, " Neat, Can we get one"
He said, "No, there probably fake and it's too hard to tell"
So this notion of fake Trade dollars flooding in and people afraid to go anywhere near them IS NOT NEW.

But more people know about it.
<< <i>Are you looking at them, which dates? >>
Common ones - I haven't looked but I don't suspect price softening for tough dates.
<< <i>I think they are way too pricey for the number of coins available. Don't get me wrong, awesome design and great history but overpriced. >>
Type in 62=>1500$, For a scarce seated type dollar coin in near-choice MS that is a pretty good and safe deal IMO. Wish/hope you are right as if they came down I would love to da a complete set in MS
