He's not stupid, he knows ebay will pull them when reported and he won't owe any fees for trying. Check his feeback for the ones that did get through, he saved a bundle in fees!

True, he is smart (till last). But how can you buy from him? If you are not happy with what you receive, he will accept the return and is not supposed to refund the shipping fees!

He is a smart guy, I agree but let me ask you, why would you want to return bullion?
The bitterness of "Poor Quality" is remembered long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten.

What if you receive 5 ASE instead of 50, or if they are fake or scratched or whatever? Don't know, but it may happen that you don't receive what you are expecting. At that point you won't be covered.
<< <i>What an idiot. He's already gotten a negative for his scam. Reported. >>
The negative was from somone that was to stupid to understand what he was doing. They thought they were going to get an oz of silver for $1.34. I actually like his concept, if he sells exactly what he advertised, what's the problem. It is enjoyable seeing Ebay/paypal lose out on some of their overpriced charges.
Did you see This one? $2344.99 S&H I'm surprised eBay has not shut him down.
I used to be somebody, now I'm just a coin collector. Recipient of the coveted "You Suck" award, April 2009 for cherrypicking a 1833 CBHD LM-5, and April 2022 for a 1835 LM-12, and again in Aug 2012 for picking off a 1952 FS-902.
<< <i>if he sells exactly what he advertised, what's the problem. It is enjoyable seeing Ebay/paypal lose out on some of their overpriced charges. >>
Do you really think they don't pass these costs on to more honest sellers who aren't engaging in fee avoidance? >>
Your right, just like any other compnay they pass on their cost via their fees, which IMHO are already to high. I just get a kick out of anyone trying to work around Ebay fees
The seller really isnt scamming anyone but Ebay. He may be overpriced, but that is between him and the buyer. If he sells exactly what he advertised, he is not ripping off the buyer.

If the item gets lost in shipping or he never ships it, wouldn't paypal only refund the purchase price but not the shipping?
I would not have much confidence that the seller would have any higher ethics with me as a customer than he does with the company he is doing business through.
This guy has a pretty good deal going. He's getting $2300-2500 for100 silver eagles. I'm shocked that people pay this much for these. And all the feedback is positive.
<< <i>This guy has a pretty good deal going. He's getting $2300-2500 a roll for silver eagles. I'm shocked that people pay this much for these. And all the feedback is positive. >>
Actually, he's getting $2300-$2500 per 100 (5 rolls).
<< <i>I would not have much confidence that the seller would have any higher ethics with me as a customer than he does with the company he is doing business through. >>
<< <i>I did it about five times guess eBay don't care either. >>
Yeah, I did it twice and nothing. Here is the seller's response to my e-mail: "no what rule i'm just going to late them run out a then i will do something if breaking the rules sorry" "
Positive BST transactions with: too many names to list! 36 at last count.
<< <i>Reported as well. E-Bay just could care less. Maybe they have pulled people off these activities given the economy. >>
Ebay cares. They're losing money. They'll take him down eventually. They are always slow and remember this is a holiday weekend here in CA. One way to interpret this is that they no longer spend more resources chasing fee avoidance than fakes/frauds. Which would be good. --Jerry
I reported just one item (but told them all of his listings did the same thing), and just got a reply from eBay that they had removed just the one listing.
I dont understand the police here. Yes hes doing something thats agains ebay policy- but unless you work for ebay why would you care??? I see no reason why the guy cant try and get lucky doing what he does. everyone just tries to make a buck and as long as what he is selling is real then its ebay's job to pull his stuff not ours to report it. personally I dont do that. I actually just sold something on the bay and ended up having over 8% in fees. after paypal as well..
Has 100 oz at the Headline and in the start of the body, but if you read further, he has another paragraph that says you're bidding on ONE coin. That's enough ambiguity that someone (or several someone's) may bid thinking they're going to get 100, but the auction might wind up low enough he'd only send one. Or, one was his intent...
Pretty shady at least.
EDIT: Sorry, can't seem to get the link to work...same page of auctions as the OP...about 2/3 down...shipping is $49.95.

His fee evasion tactics are giving him an unfair competitive advantage over other sellers. It's a form of stealing/cheating, which indirectly hurts everyone else who is honest and plays by the rules.
