What Did You Buy With Your eBay Bucks?

I got a message that my eBay Bucks certificate from last quarter was awarded. So, I picked this up for about $100 shipped after using my eBay bucks. Pretty pumped as I've wanted this card for awhile and was able to buy a grade higher that what I thought I would eventually buy. The great thing is I earned about another $3 in eBay bucks as well!

  • i spent it on a $10 common card lol. so that pretty much erased my balance!

All $3.11 went towards paying for a Dice-K card this morning image

I thought you had to have at least $5 to cash in....I had $4 something in my buyers account and lost it.....

Dunno, it used it automatically this morning when I paid for something.

Also go an email with my certificate saying $3.11

I have not bought much the last few months so my ebay bucks were pretty low. I was able to get this with them though, added $2 for shipping.

I didn't get near as much as last quarter when I was putting together all those sets, but I have one for $84 waiting to be spent on something. Might get something else to bust, that seems to be my theme lately.

1961 Pirates Riger Sketch Clemente VERY RARE Ford Promo
Here we have a very rare regional 1961 Pittsburgh Pirates promotional portfolio. This portfolio holds (6) 11x14 lithographed sketches and (1) 15x21.5" sketch by award winning sports illustrator, Robert Riger. Each sketch is marked in the lower left corner "1961 Ford Motor Company". Each sketch also holds a facsimile of Riger's autograph. These portfolios were only distributed to Ford dealerships in the Tri-State area. The sketches all come in a nice Ford portfolio that has a nice cover noting the Pirates Championship earned the year before. On the back page is Ford's lineup of vehicles for that year.

All of the sketches are in near mint condition and would look wonderful framed.

    These are the titles of the sketches;

Hoak Handles a Shot at Third
Bob Friend Comes in with the Fast One
    The Law
    Clemente Lines One Over Second
Groat Cuts Down a Brave Steal
    Maz Gets the Big Hit
Danny Murtaugh (15" x 21.5", also color tinted)

Sorry I'm a little slow. image How do you become eligible for eBay bucks? Is it automatic? I did quite a bit of buying over the last few months and I don't think I got anything.
  • I have yet to get the email saying mine is available but I have about $60 and will be using it toward a nice PSA6 or 6.5 Steve Carlton RC.

I don't think it's available to all accounts. If/When you are eligible, you get a message from eBay to join the program. Then each quarter you get a % back on your purchases.

Waiting, and hoping, that once the Cardinals lose to the Dodgers that an unexplainable rash of PSA 10 Pujols rookies show up on the Bay. Oddly enough a couple of nice ones have shown up this week... was able to pick up one so far and still trying to work a deal on another.

I just run 30 day BIN (with Best Offer) listings... and had one card sell today straight up at the BIN price.

Had to be eBay Bucks, as I rarely get SMR for 1960 Topps PSA 7 & PSA 8 cards (which is what I typically set as the BIN price) image

    Evening,
I had a guy must have spent some time in my Store today shopping and then writing everything down, then I spent an hour on the phone with him. He had everything listed with Auction numbers ect. Was a lot of 53 different 1938-1942 Non Sports PSA items. Retail in store was $1350+. We negotiated and I let him have it all for $975.00 Off E-Bay.

    Matt,

I don't know how familiar you are with Gretzky OPC rookies, but I'm not so sure about that one. It's perhaps a bit hard to see in the scan, but there should be a white dot about halfway up the red portion of Gretzky's left shoulder. This dot is diagnostic, meaning it appears on every OPC Gretzky rookie. If the dot isn't there, it's a telltale sign that the card is fake. You can go to ebay and search all 1979-80 OPC Gretzky's and see the dot.

Is that usually found as a perforated or hand cut issue and does it look like the 69 Topps issue? I have seen the 68s before but not sure about the 69s.

I am fairly certain they could be perforated or not...I doubt there are many still intact after so many years...but then again could be wrong...

I put mine toward one of these. I've been buying these lately just in case. With bing cashback and ebay bucks you can get them for less than spot and it's never a bad idea to diversify.

  • I put my $20 towards a Sammy Sosa single-signed baseball PSA authenticated. Not too bad for $100, after eBay bucks and already authenticated. I'm trying to get a single-signed ball from the members of the 500 HR Club minus Ruth, Ott, and Foxx. I'm just down to McGwire, Palmerio, and Ramirez now.
