Went a little Goofy this weekend on ASEs

These are the first ones I have ever bought and got these for the color.
Don't know if I should send them in to be graded or leave as is. Guess
I'll wait until they're in hand to decide.

Nicely toned SAEs can be addicting.
Watch out for accelerated AT'ed stuff (ummmm....please let us know how you feel when you get them inhand...I hope they are nicer than I see in the pic)
That last one, in particular, looks dubious

Personally, I would not spend grading fees to slab an ASE like this. I see no reason to believe that they are counterfeit. I don't think they become significantly more valuable slabbed.
First Strike, 70 grade, some sort of special edition...there are folks here that specialize in that. I don't think any of these are the special, valuable ASEs.
I like these too; nice big coin with a classic design.
I'd take the money you would have used to grade them and buy a few more.

I saw a toned ASE in person for the first time last weekend. I don't doubt it's authenticity (Meaning AT) but it's not something I'm really interested in either. It was in some sort of presentation case (I didn't pay THAT much attention...) and was in a blue paper that had an ASE-sized hole cut out. The coin had some dark blue around the edges, more prevelant at the bottom. (I only saw the Obverse.) For some reason I think I saw that it was from 1997...I am guessing it's been in that blue paper since new. I'm not too big on NCLTs and even less a fan of toning, natural or not.

You new 2001 looks like it may have spent some time as a pocket piece to me...

Tiny, nice coins.. If you like them that's all that matters..You have a few that will never give a collector credit for anything... Nt/At... Nice coins..

I've only got 5 more of the ASE proofs left to sell then I'll be done with ASEs except for some bullion. Hallelujah. I decided I'd like to put that money to work elsewhere AND get the air of suspicion of milkspots out of the way. The Morgans got sold too. I'm pushing ahead with Walkers, finishing up some and already upgrading some. I've got four boxed to send in and I'll be done. Maybe have 2 or 3 gennys to replace at some point.

Have them graded because they would fit your collection. Or because it will protect them. But don't slab them for financial reasons. I don't think it makes a lot of sense. And brace yourself for some genuine holders.

Hopefully, you didn;t pay more than melt for coin number one which IMO, would be a waste of grading money. Unless of course, you looking for either a genuine slab of a low grade ASE.

Instead of wasting PCGS's time and your money with grading these, why not just buy your own Coin World (Amos Advantage) holders and self slab them?

Nothing wrong with AT'd SAEs as long you find the look reasonably attractive and you don't pay much over melt for them.

I got a better idea!

Instead of buying these already toned, why not just make your own? Buy raw coins and put em in a Taco Bell napkin or just set them on a window sill! Hell, you'll get all sorts of "pretty" toning!

ASE's are .9999 fine silver and tone with embarassing ease.
