The legend on the obverse reads:
top: Minted by the Military Government (of Szechuan Province, presumably)
middle: Szechuan Silver Currency
bottom: One Yuan (dollar)
The reverse:
top: First Year of the Republic of China (1912)
middle: "Han" (As in the Han Chinese, distinct from the Manchu Qing Empire that fell the year before.)
