Should I be suspicious on ebay of a bidder with private feedback

What's the advantage of keeping your feedback private and does the ebay seller get to see the bidders feedback or is it hidden to all? Maybe I'm way to paranoid and I need to take my tin foil hat off.image

Suspicious is okay and so is curiousity. Paranoia could lead one to hurt someone else. Remove tin foil hat on eBay feedback system is my advice.
  • I have had two similar bidders and when I questioned them about it they both said they had some spam problems they felt were caused by people seeing what they had purchased. As long as their % is good, I wouldn't worry to much.

As long as they have 100% feedback and at least a 7 day return policy with no exceptions, I don't really care. Now remove either of these two positives and I would leave them alone.

There is nothing wrong with Private Feedback.. If you want to pay a certain price for a coin then does it matter? NO!!!

What we have here in PF option on the bay is another way to protect someones right to sell without being judge.. Buyer or Seller or is it Seller or Buyer..image

P.S. Years ago when I listed my PSL's front row seats to the Ravens games on ebay the spammers judge my buyers.

The reason for the change to Private Feedback, was a football player from the opposing team bought my 4 seats and his agent was spammed with a tremendous amount of questionable "Hate" mail in his ebay accounts. I live be this motto, money talks and bullcrap squawks.. I have been selling my seats to this one ex football player for 10 years now and his price pays for my entire season..

So, if you see why some do what they do, they have a right.. I only try to help my bidders, not shill as most coin collectors believe that is why a seller uses Private Feedback..

Squawk, squawk... Or should you be buying Aflac.

Sellers certainly can't have private feedback. In fact, I don't think ebay will allow you to sell with private feedback. --Jerry
  • Not if he's 100% positive. Might just wanna hide adult purchases.

    You're correct Jerry. They can't.

Absolutely correct ... and since buyers no longer can be negged...100% fb means nothing.

I do not like public feedback.

Although I understand that transparency is what drives good honest eBay transactions...

I have been the subject of a "holy carp, you are buying a lot of carp" communication before. image

Instead of hiding my feedback, I just stopped buying carp on eBay. In the long run, it's as effective as hiding your feedback and it is cheaper.

Jerry and others, I am totally wrong about Private feedback, I was writing about Private Auctions and making sure my feedback was private in which not leaving any.. Years ago if I remember they had something like Private Feedback.. Could be wrong, but most of my high priced transactions were private so feedback wasn't left.. Hell, I don't remember if both parties could leave feedback without the ebay Id's showing.. Oh well, sorry I screwed up on this thread.. George
