MS 66 1951-D Franklin ...what the .........

How much longer are we going to have to look at the error in the PCGS Price list for the MS66 1951-D Franklin ?

Is it some kind of inside joke or is it that they do not care ??

For over a month , the MS66 FBL is priced less then the 66 with no bell lines ............

    Prices are based on sales. Small numbers, older numbers, skewed numbers based on special cases. These affect the price guide. PCGS isn't saying the FBL is worth less, just that their data reports it.

    I guess it could be a simple mistake too. Have you asked?

  • Honestly IMO Pcgs price guide is so far off from what you should pay for 75% of coins I dont ever pay any attention to it.

    Now Paul you know the '51-D is rarer in non-FBL so therefore should carry a premium, right. image

    luver - now don't get me started ! Take the 1958-D (pop. 9 ) and the 1959-P (pop. 1 ) in PCGS MS67 - both have a price of $1500.00 ;

    but the '59 is about ten time's rarer in that grade.........so the rarity ( pop. figures) do not seem to have any bearingimage

    I have reported errors to customer service in the past and they have looked into some and fixed them. Have you tried that?

    I wouldn't be surprised if a non fbl coin is of higher quality than a fbl coin. Gee, there's a thought. Makes sense to me. Too many folks sitting on the fence!

    Great New's ........the Price of the 51-D in 66 FBL has been adjusted from 1350$ to 1400$.........;

    bad news is the price of the same thing in non FBL is still higher @ 1500$.......

  • PawPaulPawPaul Posts: 5,845
    still mispriced - no date on the PCGS Guide is priced less in FBL except this 1951-D in 66 .........

    who is saying that there trying to get the PRicelist straightened out ??

    I have made a big issue of this trivial, petty little misprint and nothing has been done about it
  • I think the person you should talk to at PCGS about this is Jamie Hernandez.

    IIRC he does the price guides and stuff.

    Bingo. Call PCGS or pm DW if you're so concerned.
    Positive BST transactions with: too many names to list! 36 at last count.
  • How long has it been like this now?

    It must have something to do with the pops. There's only one graded in 66 and 63 in 66FBL.

    ........You might win the cigar ! could be there is an active bid on that single non FBL coin, maybe something special about it and the

    bidder is trying to pry it loose. It looks like a lopsided error because the price has dropped substantially on the MS66 FBL version .

    Case solved ; all can be now as it should
  • It's been fixed ..........!

    I guess they got tired of you complaining about this. image
  • and they fixed the price a little on the 1959-P in MS67 too ............even though it should be at least 1000$ higher then it is

    Isn't this great ? Franklin Lovers everywhere should be dancing in the streets image

  • would you believe that 5 years ago the PCGS Guide had the 1951-D in MS66 FBL @ $4500.00?

    and today the price is over 71% lower !

    The true value of population reports and price guides!

    Low Pop coins with big price tags ALWAYS attract interest AND submissions!

    The net result is higher pops and lower prices.
