It's great to see some of your coins! I love that 1808 102a and the 1811 trio is very nice. You have a great eye for quality coins.

Thanks.
There are so many beautiful varieties in these series
1813 O.101a 50/UNI with a strong clashing of D STATE from UNITED STATES OF AMERICA on the obverse under the drapery of the bust into the date - a clash that is less common than the usual, I think

Busty, but lovely.
Camelot
The clash sure is pretty strong on that 50/UNI
Nice coins.

Naw, don't be. Here is one of my favorites...... smooth!
PQType - those are stunning coins. Thanks. Someday I hope to have a few of those...
My wife wants to remodel the kitchen. I'm at 85 busties with 79 die marriages. I might be on hold for a while. I am hopeful for the MOON show in Mpls in October. I've got some good coins to trade/sell in the hopes of getting one or two more nice CBHs. I need to wait until my 6th grader is out of college before I land coins like some of you are sharing, though. Patience...

Here's a few more from my pedestrian set:
1812 O.107 (doesn't show the about 75 degree die rotation, but it does show the triple clashing on the reverse)
1813 O.109 Ex-Richter (Anybody hear from Ed lately?) Shield clashing below ear and feathers in the field around chin.
1817 O.105a Ex-Logan

What attracted me most to this series is the incredible varieties.
Look at this 1812 O-109a
Somehow a screw got between the dies and left a screw imprint on the reverse die.
This coin series (untill 1836) was punched on a screw press.
This one shows an uncommon triple clash also.

Your tag line says it all - "Some coins are just plain interesting"
I don't have the 1812 O.109a yet but am looking, for the very reason you state above.
Here's an 1828 that had a toning that caught my eye, as well as a decent strike. Most likely toning after a light cleaning - still a fair amount of luster

And a under $100 bust
Crazyhounddog - that's a CRAZY 1812! What a colorful cameo
grip - that 1818/7 is gorgeous and the 1830 really shows of that "bulge" effect in the toning in front of the profile
Thanks for sharing.
Here's my sentimental favorite - my first capped bust - 1830 O.122 (I found out much later! - Overton who...? Whaa...?). I was staying at a hotel in Oshkosh (b'Gosh) and found it in a jewelry store that had some old coins. I thought I'd buy my wife a little something and ended up getting something for me, too - this was about 10 years ago and I bought it on a whim. Little did I know what it was going to lead to!

Zap1111, all the time you are talking sentimental, here is my first bustie I ever bought (raw from a fellow board member) which got me started on this series and eventually made me get "THE FEVER"!!!
I can see why you caught THE FEVER after snagging this beauty. Just the right combination of dirt and highlight - lots of character. What did it grade? I'd venture a 45.

My 1822 graded XF40 although I have always felt it should be a 45, JMO.

It is a 45 ddm
Thanks for starting this thread and for also agreeing with me that my first ever bustie, the 1822 above, should be a 45.
I happen to love so many of the busties you posted. I am particularly fond of your 1808, 1824/2/0, and 1829/7.
took half an hour to get an amateur pic of the obverse........too tired to try the reverse
