Dan Holmes reception.

Just got in from the Goldberg's reception for Dan Holmes collection of Large Cents - Part 1 early dates. The entire EAC was there! It was a wonderful event with every attendee getting a hardcover book of Part 1 of the Collection. I spent all day looking at the collection. It is truly exceptional!

Tomorrow is the main event.

The web site was designed by Steven, my IT guy. He's for hire!

The reception was at Larry Goldberg's house. There was a film crew there, so the event may be available on DVD.

    59 minutes to go...

The results for lot 1 should be a harbinger for the entire sale (570 lots of amazing early dates).

There are THREE St. Oswald 1794 cents in this sale. All pedigreed back to Major Sir Rowland Denys Guy Winn, M. C., 4th Baron St Oswald, whose family purchased the cents directly from the US Mint in 1794!

    Great coins and sale!

Has the St. Oswald story ever been confirmed? What a fab group of coins they were/are!

    The catalog describes the provenance.

It looks like Walter Husak is re-assebling his set.
