RIP GURU
Fail on both points. I didn't have a 79 vending box as part of my unopened collection, and now I do. If this was an extra, I'd rip it. And ten years from now when this stuff has dried up and it's worth 4 times what it is now, I'll be the last one laughing. So rip if you must - I enjoy the threads about it - but it ain't happening with me unless it's an extra.
Oh, and I'm contemplating going top shelf with one of BBCE's big time boxes. If I do, it'll go into cold storage.

10 years from now if it's worth $540 (4X wha it is now), what is the big advantage to that?

I think you should leave it alone too. Good call. Not because of what it could be worth but because it just should stay closed in my opinion!

Right back at ya, bro. You got it on the investment angle, it's almost never a winning proposition but you're right, there's a fun quotient to ripping stuff like this that can't be denied. My rule of thumb has always been this:
Pre-75: Leave it untouched.
75-79: If you have 2, think about busting one. If you have 3, have at it.
80-84: If you have 2, bust one.
85 and up: Rip it all and burn it.

You know, if enough people do just that, that stuff will be worth money someday!
