  Could be some minor alloying issues perhaps? But I don't think I'd spend much time looking at the rev if I owned it - the obv is truly mesmerizing!

  Looks like a bit of grease on the die. Not uncommon on large cents. It's a gorgeous coin, so don't worry about it!!!!!

  Hard to tell from the PICs, but the area below the lower ribbon appears to have been struck with some grease on the die - not unusal to find in the old cents, especially the early dates. Looks like some normal toning irregularities, also. Nice cent !!
