1857 Small Date large cent arrived... with some funkiness going on.

Definitely more unusual than what I was expecting. I love the obverse; it's the reverse I'm unsure about. There's some funkiness going on, diagonally from 2pm to about 7pm through the denomination.
Metal impurities? Planchet defect?
... or something wonky post-mint that should have gotten it bodybagged?
It's in a PCGS MS64BN holder. While not evident in the pictures, it is quite lustrous.
A few different pics below.
Opinions? Thanks in advance.

Whats up with the rim at star 5?

<< <i>Hard to tell from the PICs, but the area below the lower ribbon appears to have been struck with some grease on the die - not unusal to find in the old cents, especially the early dates. Looks like some normal toning irregularities, also. Nice cent !! >>
I agree, looks like a strikethrough.
All in all, I like the coin.

Not sure if it's a bruise or some sort of planchet separation or spur that was filed down.
