i think Nick is correct regarding the registration....the PSA 8 being used for comparison does not show evidence of the same unfortunate printing flaw.....a .5 upgrade would be nice, though.
<< <i>does anyone know what the reprints of that card look like? I've seen a lot of them around but have never paid attention to see if they say reprint, etc... >>
Don't know if these have been reprinted again since I first purchased a couple sets in I believe the late 80's so can only show what I have.
Back of Mantle promo/ad card (front has scratches but then it was a freebie thrown in with my order).
But one thing to remember about F156 Red Hearts is they were issued for over 15 years. If you wrote the company as late as the early 1970's you would receive the same 1954 cards. They were NOT issued inside the dogfood (If they were they would be more valuable), you had to write the company for the sets/series of cards ......thus lower value overall because it is considered a "collector issue" only available in set offer (ie Kelloggs except 1971).
Collecting PSA graded Steve Young, Marcus Allen, Bret Saberhagen and 1980s Topps Cards. Raw: Tony Gonzalez (low #'d cards, and especially 1/1's) and Steve Young.
Truly a great looking card. Congratulations on scoring that one.
The instant grading review seems a little odd to me. I know I've read that some people think that the huge bulk submitters get some favorable grades, but an instant review for any customer, before the card is even shipped back, seems no different than that.
It seems to me that the grading system should be totally independent of the grade the card submitter wants to receive. Even the "don't grade this card unless it's a 10" submission option seems to mess with the independence of the entire grading system.
Collecting: non-sports (celebrities, movies, tv, Batman, Wrestling & Wrestling Divas, & more), and sports (Spurs, Cowboys, Braves and other favorites)

<< <i>Did the previous owner have it slabbed prior to selling it? >>
Nope. This was as raw as they come.
I've bought tons of my raw vintage from this same source, most of
my recent subs are straight from him.
Check out the 'What the heck have we gotten ourselves into April sub' thread,
one of my 50's 60's subs just popped yesterday too.
I emailed Joe last nite as just a longshot, hoping he could catch it and maybe
review it? No reply yet, and status has not hit shipped yet.
All in all, I am still stoked about THE CARD because I know what it truly is.

My Mess
It does seem a to have a little of the ink bleed around the diamond as mine.
On another note, my bulk sub that popped yesterday has shipped status already.
This sub has yet to post a ship date and the grades popped before the bulk.
Maybe Joe got my email? Still no response from him yet tho.
Just keeping my fingers crossed

Thats why many are in nice shape overall.

We have vindication!
A short email to Joe and I got a review before it was sent back.
It finally popped again today
The half point bump takes a lil sting out of the affair and MAJOR props to
Joe and the staff to address my concern. I actually caught them out doing a
show, but was informed by another staff member to not worry about the situation.
I think its
Raw: Tony Gonzalez (low #'d cards, and especially 1/1's) and Steve Young.
