Is the US Mint creating a buying frenzy?

While they are bound by law to create the 09 AE bullion coin, they say they need more blanks to turn out the proofs. Could the USM be creating a buying frenzy for the 09 AE silver proof/uncirculated coins?

they seem too bureaucratic for that kind of thinking.

There are more _________(s) buying now than ever before, so I guess the answer is yes.

Only if they start minting them! You may not see them in 2009.

The price of gold is set by faith, or lack of, in the currency it is priced in.

I take it you avoided the "Formative Years" rolls...

I've been ordering from the mint since 2005.

of all the new releases I've been on that one was the craziest online experience yet.

It was worse than the Jefferson Liberty and the UHR.

If the "Formative Years" ordering is any indication, the 09A(S,G,P)Es will be torture to order. I predict Madness.

The actions DO result in a frenzy. In short I should have just said "YES"

________(s)= collectors or market makers ( only because I think "flippers" is a "cheap" word for people making a market in coins ... even if it's not a 2-way market)

And I think the Mint is getting better at 'marketing' and creating a demand. It does help their bottom line!

  • Perhaps, they are offering coins but the 'new stuff' collectors are the ones in a frenzy.
