<< <i>Just a quick inquiry. Why is the only time I ever see you post, its about a show you are organizing/promoting? Not a slam, just curious.
Because one would be surprised how many people actually read these posts.
Really, because I am doing my part to promote numismatics, no matter the significance or relavance. Enough said!
And once again the OP is responsible for the majority of the response posts. The OP is also a forum member who does not show much presence here unless it is to self promote his own threads, shows and agendas. There is nothing wrong with having big ambitions, but relentless self-promotion and spamming message boards will not get you there.

<< <i>I love it...a one-person operation (according to his own website) yet he refers to his company in third person as "DCOIS", complete with a "PR department" and full press releases, written by the sole operator himself nonetheless. I guess it's like a few other coin dealers I know who are one-person operations yet when you call them you are treated to a spiel of something to the likes of "please hold for the next available representative".

Let me get this straight. You're blasting this guy, but your tags at the bottom seem to promote a business as well.

Wei - I am a one-person operation. Everything about this show, from the planning to the logistics, is all done by me - period! Putting together a coin show looks easy but it is anything but. You have to find the location, deal with contracts, finding dealers who would want to set up, get security, put down wiring, getting the tables where they should be. I do this ALL BY MYSELF. Its hard work, yet I don't complain about it one bit. At the end of the day, if a dealer makes a profit and a collector finds what he is looking for, then the work involved in putting these shows together was well worth it. It is one way for me to contribute to the numismatic hobby, and I get thanked for it from a lot of people.
As far as spamming these boards, my inital post was not spam but an annoucement. Go to the NGC boards because its there too. As for your comments - you really need to think what you say before posting them here because sooner or later you will make a complete
Enough said!
<< <i>For those who haven't seen this episode before, this is a re-run. This is not the first time that Doran makes a legit post about a local show he wishes to promote and WTCG blasts him for it. No one seems to blast the posters of other local shows such as the one upcoming in Arcadia, CA or the east coast shows that get posted all the time. Seems like we just may have some Illinois haters here. >>
It appears to be, illini420.

Hey, I'm not the one who's posting "press releases" about shows they are promoting followed by incessant self-bumping of that post. The OP also has promotional links in his sig line yet you do not criticize him for that.

This stuff is on the NGC forums too? The folks there are being subjected to this as well? God help them.
The difference is that others who promote their shows through the forums tend to do so professionally and modestly without having the tendency to compulsively bump their threads under the guise of answering questions or unleashing a sensationalized "press release".
Anyways, I am finished with aiding the OP in promoting his show by responding to his thread.

<< <i>I personally like these heads up since I'm just 40 miles south of Mt Vernon and don't know about these shows unless I see the announcement here. I do 95% of my coin buying online so I don't really get any local numismatic news. >>
I'm glad to give you and everyone the heads up!
As far as this being a national forum, who cares? This is a great form of free advertising: use it.

This thread was placed here only 4 days in advance of the show and as such, I don't see an "incessant" bumping of the post going on here.
Maybe you don't like his style, but maybe that's irrelevant.
I knew it would happen.
