I 'll have my first table at CICF this year!

bidaskbidask Posts: 14,028 ✭✭✭✭✭
I will be offering all kinds of darkside coins from my rambling collection. Most all are slabbed.

Some will be overpriced, some will be underpriced, most will be fairly priced. All nice.

Crowns, minors, some gold, many countries.

So come over and say howdy and introduce yourself as a forum member .....hope to see you there!image

Good luck bidask image, I'm sure it will be fun!

If I ever have a chance to return to the US for a holiday I'll try and tie it in with one of the coin shows.

Its not easy being a wannabe dealer.

The good news is I am having fun, bought a few things similar to what I am trying to sell ( why, I am not sure) and looking at coins all day. image

The bad news is that I have mismarked my coins( some overpriced and some underpriced), been cherry picked , misplaced a few coins and otherwise struggling to keep up with all that is going on.

The real pro dealers are all set up ( is there an appropriate time to set up a coin booth) and I am still unpacking my first briefcase. Those guys are pro's.

Then it is really embarrasing when someone asks you how much you want for your coin and I answer "I don't know" . I did that a couple a times.

Now I have made a few sales, Guys from India like India coins, guys from Mexico like Mexican coins, guys from Bulgaria like Bulgarian coins...etc. They have a melting pot here in Chicago. Thas all for now.

Sorry I couldn't make it out, but I've been nursing multiple trades lately.....image

In CIT for about 900 seconds and pulled $1,200, etc., etc. Just not enough Et ceteras. image

Good luck! Did Aki buy all the underpriced coins? image

I sure enjoyed the one time I could get to that show. I still remember buying that slabbed UNC 1904 Shilling from Harlan Berk for $49. image

    Wish I was there.

Mac, don't give me those lame excuses!!! image

Just back from the show. It was pretty good for business, but great fun. Coming home from the show, I thought about how much I prefer the Darkside shows. The level of enthusiasm among dealers and collectors is so much greater than on the Lightside. So is their eagerness to share and trade information, stories and even clients. The contrast is really quite remarkable. Now, I'm sort of dreading the Central States show next week. I think it's going to seem too much like work.
