How Many Names Do You Have On Your eBay "Blocked Bidders" List??

Thought it would be interesting to see how many
names the Forum members have on their eBay
blocked bidders/sellers list.

I only have four, and I think they all came from
problems that other people here on the Forum
had, and not from any bad experience I have
had on the bay.

So, what about you guys??

Honestly I do not have any. Although after reading some of the horror stories here, I probably should have added a few.
Knock on wood, I've been very fortunate with over 300 sales to date.

It doesn't need to be anyone who is a member here, right?

If it does, than my count is also zero.

(Shoot. I just re-read the OP's post and see that is exactly what he was seeking...)

ZERO then. Seven people who are random eBay problem children.

Right, I wasn't talking about blocking members here,
just the total people you have blocked on eBay.

12 so far in 10 years on the Bay. Have only added 1 back, per a request from a buyer. He never paid, so I added him and about a year later, he had pretty good feedback and made the request.

At eBay, click on "Site Map", then under "Sell" you will see
"Blocked Bidder/Buyer". Click on that and follow directions
    given there.

I'd note a couple things about the large number on my list. In addition to the ones that get posted here, I also hang out in the eBay forums a lot so I pick up loser names there. Plus, I've done over 10,000 auctions so I've had plenty of opportunity to encounter block-worthy nitwits.

Never even thought about having to block someone, solved

Superior customer service doesn't do anything about deadbeat bidders, or bidders who are serial neggers, or bidders who make stupid demands after the sale, or bidders who are just generally a pain in the ass. Life is too short. I don't want to deal with any of these.

Did you know that you can look in "my ebay" and find a record of blocked bidders who tried to bid and got rejected? I don't remember exactly where but its in there somewhere. Some people are on your list because you specifically put them there, others because of the preset options that ebay gives you. If they bid and got blocked the list will give you the reason.

Only bidders that were blocked based on the buyer requirements criteria, for example foreign if one ships only US, too many item strikes, etc. Bidders on the BBL don't show up.

I usually find out from the people on my BBL list anyway because I get an email that goes something like, "too bad for you that you blocked me, I was ready to pay ten times what the thing sold for, you &*$%#!" image

I was in retail over 40 years, only "once" did I have to kick a person out of one of my stores in those 40 years, "me personally" dealing with the public seven days a week, a very slow day was 50 people, average was 75 to 125, and a busy day was 150 to 250 per day. ( Owned A Hallmark Card Store Chain). I had my share of ass%^$#& believe me, I dealt with hunderds of thousands of people solving their problems and probably have waited on more people in those 40 years than most everyone on the boards combined, (owner six stores) I still find it interesting that so many have problems they cant solve, I stand by "Superior Customer Service" even dealing with dead beats, non payers, neggers, etc...and never have had the problems I hear about on the boards constantly...like I have said a thousand times many of the dealers attitudes suck and are clueless about superior Customer Service...next time you have a problem try fixing it rather than being part of it...

Spare us the sermons. Russ's and Tonelover's are customer service are top-notch (probably top 1%) among e-bay coin sellers -- reality is certain people cannot be pleased no matter how many hoops you jump through, and there are many scumbags out there who try to take advantage of the ebay/Paypal rules that are tilted to the buyer. Fortunately, the fair and honest buyers far outnumber the scumbags, but those scumbags can inflict a considerable waste of time and money to those unfortunate enough to have to deal with them.

I use to not get paid all the time... customer theft...
2% of my gross per store x 6 it was a big chunk of cash out of my pocket each year about 80 - 100K...part of the scumbags you guys always talk about...

Not a sermon just know for a fact what superior service is... ebay sellers taking years to get 10,000 plus feedbacks, I waited on twice that many people in a year x 40 years trust me you get to know what truly is Superior Customer Service is...know there are numerous quality sellers...also know many have no clue....

    Bcsican,

There's no comparision between retail business in a face-to-face environment, and selling on eBay. I also happen to own a retail shop, and have been serving to retail public for close to 40 years myself. Thus, I have the experience on both sides. It's obvious from your comments, that you have limited experience on the eBay side.

I might not have huge numbers on e-bay but there is no difference in Superior Customer Service
on e-bay or face to face..your welcome to read my feedbacks.. and where my numbers might not
be in comparison to many 332 on record with a total of 400 that is not limited experience...

Or the fact that some deadbeat buyers can drop you a NEG which affects your eBay fee structure?

Or the fact that since you will NEVER, EVER deal with some of these folks face to face, and they know that, they can level virtually any claim against you that they can dream up to hurt your eBay reputation and not even think twice about it!

E-Superior Customer Service is not even comparable to retail customer service!

You are comparing apples to oranges friend!

Only one...I bought four 1/64 scale cars, he took my money but never sent the cars. After a very...ahem...persuasive email on my part I got my money back, and then oddly enough a month later he left me postive feedback on all 4, which I did not expect at all. It was too little, too late.

    bcsican:

Russ blocks "buyers" who don't pay. I think that's roughly analogous to the shoplifters who stole from you in your Hallmark store. Your "superior service" clearly did not convince the shoplifters to pay up before they left. My bet is that if you could have blocked shoplifters from entering the store, I presume you would have done so. So I think that if you count shoplifters along with the one other person for whom your "superior service" did not work, then the number in your group of "blocked buyers" would be easily approach and probably exceed Russ's number. Of course, all that said, Russ's comment that comparing an actual physical store to an eBay store is an apples to orange comparison is accurate.
