Could I Get Screwed on Accepting This Ebay Offer

I'm not very Ebay or Paypal scam street smart so I'm asking.....

I get this message on Ebay and my email from 'roselynn2' that makes me an offer for a coin I won on Ebay about 4 weeks ago, and they make me a nice offer for the coin and I respond and accept their offer. Within like 2 minutes I get an email from Paypal saying I have a pending payment and I logon and accept the payment and transfer it over to my checking acct.

This 'roselynn2' had 99.4% feedback and no negs within the past year and an Ebay member for 9 yrs.

My question is....... if I wait til the money hits my checking acct before shipping the coin, there's nothing that can go wrong, is there?

Well obviously Ebay doe not like transactions outside of Ebay because they don't make anything, I am a little curious how they tracked you down to make the offer but other then that I don't see a problem.

From what I understand paypal cannot dig into your bank account. If there is an issue with the buyer I think they can only freeze your paypal acct.

did you do this outside of ebay or was a "make offer" ebay transaction?

since it was outside of ebay.. ebay has nothing to do with it.
one can still do a chargeback though on their credit card i imagine
but once the money is in your checking account paypal cannot yank it.

just wait a few days, secure the money, do nothing else with your
paypal account for a while if you can, and ship the coin.

then see how the buyer responds and continue on with life.

Probably by the feedback that was left.

It sounds like you won a coin they'd really wanted to buy and missed it. Probably waited til you left or received feedback to get your name then decided to try for it.

If the money is there, great, I see no problem. Out of curiosity, what's the value of the coin?
Have bought and sold on BST, many references available when asked.

Did you click on a link provided within the email supposedly from PayPal? If so, and if it is a scam, you may have just given away all your information.

No links, I went directly to the Paypal website to do the transfer.

Looks like the buyer just guessed your email address was your paypal payment address and sent you a rapid payment. Do NOT reply or respond to the pending email but go sign into your paypal account to see if the funds are really there pending for your approval to accept image

I have made a deal with that ebay id before, Best offered $200.00 on a coin on ebay then offered $200.00 verbally on a different coin.

Asked me what one I thought looked better I gave my opinion.

Asked if he could pay 200 and I send 2 coins for him to pick from 1 from and send the other back.

I said ok, but I'd need an extra 20.00 if you pick coin "A" over coin "B"

He picked coin "A" and I still have not received the $20.00 but did get the other coin back within a couple days.

He answered an email and said he needed a bit of time for the other 20.00

I sent a request for cash via paypal a week or so ago.

The deal may go smooth with you I think.

Hopefully he has 20 bucks left after your payment clears image

You might want to post a picture of the coin here.

Lets some others look at it, may be a lot better coin than you think.

If it is a RARE one you could be letting it go to cheaply.

Any time you use PayPal you can get screwed. Especially if you are a seller. image
